Pendleton Recreational Area on Toledo Bend
Reservoir

(Toledo Bend Reservoir, Texas) The Sabine River Authority of Texas (SRA-TX) recently
opened the Pendleton Recreational Area Boat Ramp located along Highway 21 in Sabine
County at the state line.

The opening of the boat ramp marks completion of Phase 1, with Phase 2 currently under
construction.

Phase 1 of the project includes an asphalt parking lot, kayak launch, and a four-lane boat ramp protected by a 340’ jetty. Phase 2 will include a pavilion, restroom
facilities, playground, picnic areas, boardwalk, and a swim beach area.

Phase 2 is scheduled to be completed and opened to the public in the summer of 2024.
David Montagne, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Sabine River
Authority of Texas said, “We are excited to open this new boat ramp facility to provide
additional access to Toledo Bend Reservoir for the public to enjoy. Pendleton
Recreational Area is part of SRA-TX economic development program to enhance
recreational opportunities throughout the Sabine River Basin, fulfilling SRA’s obligation to
assist in the development of the Basin.”
Created by the Legislature in 1949, the Sabine River Authority of Texas is an official
agency of the State of Texas. The Authority was created as a conservation and
reclamation district with responsibilities to control, store, preserve, and distribute the
waters of the Sabine River and its tributary streams for useful purposes.
